Győr celebrated the completion of the 1 millionth Audi Q3 model! – PHOTOS

The one-millionth Audi Q3 model was completed at the Audi Hungaria base in Gyor (NW Hungary) on Friday.

One-millionth Audi Q3 rolls off production line

Serial production of the Q3 model started in Győr in 2018 and reached around 163,000 units in 2024, the lion’s share of the more than 179,000 cars produced at the base during the year, Audi Hungaria chairman Michael Breme said.

Audi Hungaria renewed its strategic cooperation agreement, signed in 2013, with the government at the ceremony. Audi AG board member Gerd Walker said the agreement would create the framework for further developments in Győr and could strengthen its presence in services, education and science.

Orbán cabinet signs new strategic cooperation agreement with Audi

The government has signed a new strategic cooperation agreement with Audi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in Győr (Northwest Hungary) on Friday.

In a statement released by his ministry, Szijjártó said the new agreement aimed to support more and more decisions by the German car maker to bring investments to Győr and achieve success in the new era of electromobility. The sides also agreed that Audi would strengthen its presence in Győr in new segments, in addition to production, such as in services and R+D, and that it would form a closer cooperation with local institutions of higher education and vocational training, he added.

Audi Hungaria marked the production of the 1 millionth Q3 model at its plant in Győr on Friday.

Szijjártó said Hungary wanted to be at the “forefront” of the global automotive industry’s technological transition and would soon be able to turn out 1 million cars and 2 million engines a year, while boasting the second-largest battery manufacturing capacity in the world.

He acknowledged Audi’s contribution to putting the country in the “Champions League” of the global automotive industry, noting the company had ploughed HUF 5,200bn into Győr over three decades.

Audi employs over 12,000 people in Győr to produce 2 million engines and 200,000 cars a year.
