Hungary submitted 4th most alerts for dangerous non-food products

Hungary sent 365 alerts to Safety Gate, the European Union’s rapid alert system for dangerous non-food products, last year, the fourth-highest number after Italy, Germany and Sweden, the National Authority for Trade and Consumer Protection (NKFH) said on Thursday.

A total of 4,137 alerts were sent to Safety Gate last year. Cosmetics accounted for 47pc of the alerts sent by Hungary, NFFH said, noting a ban on the synthetic fragrance BMHCA. String lights made up 19pc of the alerts, electrical devices 14pc and toys 11pc, it added.
