EU affairs minister: ‘Warsaw Express never to pull into Budapest’

“The Warsaw Express will never arrive in Budapest,” Hungary’s European affairs minister said on Facebook on Monday.
Warsaw Express will never arrive…
János Bóka said that he had told Polish weekly Sieci that “the formula is that Brussels or the European People’s Party select somebody they consider suitable for their purposes and put pressure on uncooperative governments to help that person enter power.”
“They exert financial, political, and administrative pressure to make it easier for their candidate to gain power; once that happens, the new leadership is authorised by Brussels to do whatever they wish to do with their political opposition,” he added. “In return, they only have to follow Brussels’s dictate and give up more and more of their sovereignty,” the minister said, adding that “we have seen that in Poland and we don’t want to see that in Hungary”.
Bóka insisted that the incumbent Polish government had gained “access to community funding in no time … whereas they closely watch Hungary and analyse what we do and what we don’t … it is not an objective, neutral or impartial evaluation process”.
