A ten-year-old German boy has been found dead in Berekfürdő, Eastern Hungary, the police said on their website on Sunday afternoon.
Local police received a report on Sunday morning that the boy was found dead at an outlying property. The boy’s mother, who is also a German citizen, was brought to a hospital by ambulance because, according to Telex, she tried to commit suicide.
The police are working to establish the circumstances of the boy’s death on-site and are unable to provide further details for now.
Berekfürdő locals talk about murder
However, Bors, a Hungarian tabloid, reported that according to information they received, the German mother killed the child and then tried to commit suicide. The alleged murder took place in the rural homestead world surrounding Berekfürdő. The media outlet talked to a local man who said the woman killed the boy two days ago and hid his body in the henhouse. Afterwards, she tried to end her own life but was unsuccessful. Therefore, the ambulance took her to a Debrecen hospital where she received proper care.
Berekfürdő is well-known for its spa and bath. The death occured between Karcag and Berekfürdő.
