Fond of Hungarian village pubs? The government is about to give them a huge boost

The government’s HUF 13 billion (EUR 32.5 million) tourism sector support programme will be extended to include village pubs, bars and wine bars starting in March, National Economy Minister Márton Nagy said on Wednesday.
Small pubs operating in settlements with a population of less than 1,000 will be eligible for a combined HUF 1 billion (EUR 2.5 million) in support, the minister said on Facebook. The programme has so far supported more than 3,300 restaurants, cake shops and buffets, he added.
Successful applicants can spend a maximum of HUF 3 million (EUR 7,500) on operating costs or finance energy efficiency investments. Applications can be submitted from 3 March.
