Justice minister marks political prisoners memorial day
Justice Minister Judit Varga on Thursday attended a ceremony marking the day of Hungarians deported to Soviet forced labour camps.
In her address, Varga said that Hungarians’ “national identity, their sticking to their roots, and their perseverance have always helped survive vicissitudes”. Hungarians learnt through their own lives that
“there is no communism with a human face;
its real face is individual and collective drama, an all-intertwining terror, trampling on human rights and forced labour camps”, she said.
