Hungary gives state award to Czech historian

Czech historian Frantisek Hybl received a Hungarian Gold Cross of Merit state award at an event in Prague on Thursday evening.

The award was granted by President János Áder to Hybl in recognition of his efforts to reveal the injustices committed against Hungarians and Germans after world war two and his work to nurture the memory of civilian victims.

The award was presented to Hybl by Hungarian Ambassador Miklós Boros at a ceremony held in the Liszt Institute. A documentary dubbed Genocide in Pozsonyligetfalu was shown as part of the event.
