Shocking: More than 50 pc of young Hungarians would leave Hungary

Only young people living in Ireland and Cyprus precede Hungary in those sorrowful statistics, based on the latest survey of Eurofound Research Foundation’s latest survey.
According to the shocking results detailed by G7, 42% of young Hungarians planned to move abroad in three years in 2023. Another 11% “would like to” leave Hungary. In Ireland, that figure is 35 and 26 pc, while in Cyprus 50 and 5 pc.
In Hungary, 25% of the 15-29-year-old people struggle to make ends meet from their salary. Based on that, young people in Hungary are in a worse position in nine and a more favourable position in 17 member states. And why would they leave Hungary? According to the survey, the main reasons are the depressing Hungarian public life and the low living standard.
According to the Hungarian Central Statistical Office, 2021 was the year of trend change. That was the first year after the COVID-19 pandemic when more people left Hungary than returned.
