Hungarian MEP Márton Gyöngyösi (Non-Attached Member of the European Parliament) shares his views on EU funds in a video.

“Unfortunately, Hungary has not received EU funds for quite a while, because the EU is not convinced that the Fidesz government would use them for the appropriate purposes.

Without the EU funds, Hungary’s economy will hardly be able to function, let alone grow. That’s why it’s so important to bring home the EU monies in such a way that the funds are allocated where they are most needed.

As a Member of the European Parliament, I urge for the EU monies to be directly transferred to the local municipal governments, which would then distribute them correctly under the supervision and according to the rules of the European Union. This way we could bypass the oligarchs’ nets and save the funds that are due to the Hungarian people.”
