Guest nights in Hungary edge down 0.8 pc in June

Guest nights spent in commercial and private tourism accommodation in Hungary were 0.8 percent down at 3,984,000 in June year-on-year, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Thursday.

The total number of guests rose by 3.8 percent to 1.6 million in Hungary.

The number of guest nights spent by domestic travellers dropped by 10.0 percent to 2,205,000 and nights spent by foreign visitors grew by 13.6 percent to 1,779,000.

In the January-June period, the number of guest nights increased by 1.3 percent year on year to 15,979,000. The number spent by domestic travellers fell by 8.0 percent to 8,108,000, while those spent by foreign visitors increased by 13.2 percent to 7,871,000.
