PHOTOS: Harley-Davidson festival in Budapest – two bikers died

Harley-Davidson owners celebrated the 120th anniversary of the popular trademark in Budapest yesterday with a grande “pride march”. The meeting of the H-D bikers started on 22 June and will end today. Most festival programs take place in Budapest, around the Puskás Ferenc Stadium.

According to telex.hu, bikers celebrate the anniversary not only in Budapest but also with tours to Dobogókő, the Cserhát, the Hungarian Great Plains, the Vértes Mountains and the Danube Bend. As a result, traffic on the roads leading to these destinations may be increased even today.

One of the partakers, a 62-year-old man, died on 23 June after colliding with a car on the M1 motorway. Here is a photo:

A middle-aged woman suffered life-threatening damages, while three men were transferred to hospital with spine injuries. Furthermore, another H-D owner bumped into a fire hydrant and died immediately.

Meanwhile, the Budapest ambulance service expressed gratitude towards two Austrian bikers, who created a safe path on the Buda lower embankment yesterday, vezess.hu wrote.

Not only Hungarians but also foreigners took part in march in Budapest. Most of them came from Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Here are some photos of yesterday’s march:
