25 percent price rise in McDondald’s in Hungary

The American fast-food giant, McDonald’s, increased takeout fees significantly in Hungary.

According to hvg.hu, if somebody decides to take home his meal from McDonald’s in Hungary, they will have to pay HUF 100 instead of HUF 80 like before. That is a 25 percent price rise. McDonald’s introduced takeout fees in Hungary last September.

The takeout fee does not depend on the number of food items you order. You must pay it after each McDrive and take-away transaction. The company told hvg.hu last autumn that the introduction of the takeout fee was necessary because of the increased costs. The media outlet asked McDonald’s why they increased that price, but the firm did not answer until their article was published.
