Viktor Orbán’s brother becomes CEO of an international arms trading company

Viktor Orbán’s younger brother, Áron Orbán, has been appointed CEO of an international arms trading company operating in Hungary. Meanwhile, it has also emerged in the news that he owns a company in Croatia which specialises in arms trading. We thought to investigate this dubious case.
There were already rumours circulating in the Hungarian media that the prime minister’s younger brother by 14 years, Áron Orbán had an avid interest in the arms market, since he earlier posted on Social Media that he owned an arms trading company (the post was later suspiciously removed).
According to index.hu, it has been made public that Viktor Orbán’s younger brother became the CEO of an arms trading company.
Based on the information of mfor.hu, Áron Orbán took over the management of the arms trading company, that runs with the tell-tale name Multi Shoot Ltd., on 25 October. The previous CEO, József Bóka resigned from his post, according to documents filed with the company court.
Meanwhile, just a few days apart, Áron Orbán also bought 100 percent ownership in another arms trading firm, Circle of Devils Ltd. This company was formerly owned by Multi Shoot, and its name suggests that it may have been linked to Áron Orbán in the past, as the prime minister’s brother used to own a company with a very similar name, Circle of ANGELS & DEVILS LLC, registered in Csáktornya, Croatia.
It is clear that both the Croatian company’s and Multi Shoot’s main profile is arms trading. In the case of Multi Shoot, this also becomes obvious, if we have a look at their website, where they state the following:
“Multi Shoot Zrt. is an international company, established in the summer of 2017, whose main sector is arms trade. It is licensed for the sale of any military equipment, with the exception of chemical and nuclear weapons.”
The company operates a large brick-and-mortar weapon store in Dunakeszi. They sell ammunition, tactical and hiking clothing, as well as shotguns, bullets and handguns.
Diverse profile: catering, explosives, arms trading
Similar information was found about Circle of ANGELS & DEVILS LLC operating abroad. According to trademarkelite.com, the company’s business is quite diverse. It includes not only event management and catering but also the sale of weapons, ammunition and explosives.
In this context, the machine gun and handgun in the company’s logo are a telling sign that the company’s profile is most likely not focused solely on catering and event management.
The country’s business-related regulations do not require Hungarian companies, including the Circle of Devils Ltd., to make it clear whether they are involved in arms trading. On ceginformacio.hu (a website providing public information on companies registered in Hungary), the main activity of Circle of Devils Ltd. is listed as ‘retail sale of other new goods n.e.c’. The latter is a very broad category that includes, among other things, ‘specialised retail sale of weapons and ammunition’.
