PHOTOS: young talented Georgian artist’s exhibition opened in Budapest

The official opening of the exhibition titled “New World /Selected Works” by Sophie Magalashvili, a famous, Budapest-based Georgian artist, was held at Nagyházi Contemporary Gallery and Auction House on September 21, 2022.
The event was attended by representatives of Hungarian cultural, artistic and academic circles, diplomatic corps and media.
Ambassador of Georgia Zaal Gogsadze addressed the audience, highlighting the symbolic significance of the exhibition in the context of the 30th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Georgia and Hungary.
Mr. LÅ‘rincz Nagyházi, Founder of the gallery and Mr. William Guba, Art Historian and Connoisseur, the curator of the exhibition, spoke about Sophie’s works. Sophie’s “universe full of kindness, peace and light” was met with great deal of interest and approval from the visitors.
At the reception that followed the official part of the event Georgian cuisine and wines were presented. The exhibition jointly organized by the Embassy of Georgia, the Nagyházi Contemporary Gallery and Auction House, and the Young Ambassador of Georgia to Hungary, Ms. Tamuna Japharidze, is dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Georgia and Hungary. The exhibition will be on display until October 14, 2022.
