Govt official meets Transcarpathia governor, pledges continued support

Hungary will continue to support Ukraine, especially its western region, Transcarpathia, with humanitarian, social and economic aid, state secretary Levente Magyar said on Monday after talks with the region’s governor, Viktor Mykyta.
At the talks in Uzhorod (Ungvar), Magyar and Mykyta reviewed Hungary’s aid policy. Mykyta thanked Hungary for the help of the Hungarian Interchurch Aid, which provided support to 250 institutions for internally displaced people.
Hungary is also working to increase capacity to allow Ukrainian grain to leave the country towards Hungary, he said. “This could lead to Hungary becoming one of the primary routes for Ukrainian grain into the world,” he said.
Magyar is scheduled to hold talks with dignitaries in Lviv and Kyev in the coming days.
