Restaurant distinguishes vaccinated guests by trays, many outraged

The treatment in a restaurant in Veszprém, which was introduced after the reopening, generated an outrageous response. A restaurant in Veszprém distinguishes its guests with the colour of the trays.
Owners of a vaccination card will receive a brown tray and may utilise the space indoors. Non-vaccinated people get a white tray and can only dine on the terrace. Many were outraged by the discrimination, including those who had already been vaccinated.
ATV News Reported that they posted on the Facebook page of the Veszprém restaurant: vaccinated and different coloured trays distinguish non-vaccinated guests.
Atv.hu could not reach the owner, but an employee replied that they did not want to discriminate against anyone with this tray system, but now they really work with the certificate of protection for the brown, while those who do not yet have a plastic card have the white tray. Those with a brown tray can eat in the restaurant and on the terrace, while white tray havers can only eat on the terrace or take home the food of their choice.
According to the chef of a restaurant in Székesfehérvár, the measure is outrageous. For example, they solved the issue by not opening the interior, so there is no need to differentiate between vaccinated and non-vaccinated.
“We are not at all anti-vaxxers, in fact, we are in favour of ending this storm as soon as possible, which has almost ruined virtually all catering, and to get our normal lives back.”
said József Fekete, the chef of Nemszemét Restaurant.
Below the restaurant’s post are a number of critical comments:
- “We’ll spend our money elsewhere …. It’s a shame to write this out, you could learn from other hospitality units where they reject discrimination!”
- “Brown tray, white tray? Yes! I hope they went bankrupt with such a discriminatory measure! Divide the Hungarians, that’s it! ”
- “Everyone knows the movie Hidden figures, I hope …. Well, that reminded me of that … I understand everything, but we don’t have leprosy, we’re unvaccinated”.
- “I hope you’re starving …. you’re a discriminatory person, I wouldn’t have dared to do that ….”
A man working as a waitress in Veszprém spoke to atv.hu newsletter. He does not approve of the distinction either:
“Well, that’s pretty weird because I work in hospitality too, for me it’s weird, it couldn’t be done because I think it’s stupid,” he said.
