Hungary prepared to build fence at Romanian border if necessary

Budapest, March 5 (MTI) – Hungary is prepared to build a fence along its border with Romania should the situation posed by migration pressure so require, the prime minister’s chief security advisor said on Saturday.
Construction of a fence would begin in the instance that patrol units can no longer control the migrant flow along the 450-kilometre border section, György Bakondi told a press conference.
If the government decides to build a fence, the construction is set to begin at the Hungarian-Serbian-Romanian border contact point and continue along a section as long as the migration situation requires, he said.
