Hunor rescue team leaves for London exercise

Budapest, March 1 (MTI) – Some 76 members of Hungary’s Hunor rescue team left on Tuesday for an exercise in London where they will be deployed at a simulated underground accident.
Head of the national disaster management authority Tibor Tollár asked the team to efficiently contribute to the exercise, which he called a true challenge, enhancing the good reputation of Hungarian rescue workers. He added that Hunor has been rapidly developing since its foundation in 2012.
British deputy ambassador Caitlin Jones said the exercise will further improve Hunor’s capabilities and the Hungarian rescue workers will add their high-level skills to its success.
The exercise dubbed London EU 15 will involve British, Hungarian, Cypriot and Italian rescue teams.
Hunor takes seven tonnes of equipment to London and will return to Budapest on March 6.
