Domingo to perform Verdi, Zarzuela in Budapest
Budapest, February 5 (MTI) – Renowned Spanish tenor Placido Domingo will appear on stage at the Shakespeare Ball in the Budapest State Opera on Feb. 6, Laszlo Parragh, the chief patron of the event, told MTI.
Domingo will perform arias by Verdi during the first part of the programme, organisers of the event told a press conference earlier.
In the second part, he will sing traditional Zarzuela as a “personal gift” to the Hungarian audience, they said.
The last time Domingo performed on the Hungarian stage was in 1987.
