Jobbik to turn to chief prosecutor over PM’s ‘criminal’ remark

Budapest, December 17 (MTI) – Gabor Vona, leader of the radical nationalist Jobbik party, on Thursday said he would turn to the chief prosecutor over a recent comment by Prime Minister Viktor Orban saying that Jobbik was “full of criminals”.

Vona said he will ask Peter Polt to determine whether the prime minister committed a crime by claiming that there are criminals in Jobbik while failing to file a complaint in the matter. Vona said a comment like the one Orban made should have legal consequences.

Vona said the prime minister had made serious accusations against Jobbik and in the process insulted its more than one million voters. The party leader demanded that Orban apologise for his comment.
