Cabinet chief to be in charge of govt policy coordination

Budapest (MTI) – Newly-appointed cabinet chief Antal Rogan will be in charge of managing, monitoring and coordinating the government’s policies in his new role, according to a decree published in the official gazette Magyar Kozlony on Monday.

The decree signed by Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjen states that the cabinet chief will also be in charge of coordinating government communication.

Rogan’s job will involve summarising and evaluating government proposals, on the basis of which he is to submit a final proposal to the prime minister.

The cabinet chief will be in charge of briefing ministers and government officials on the prime minister’s decisions. Rogan will have the authority to ask officials to report on the implementation of the government’s various policies, which can then be passed on or presented to the prime minister.

The cabinet chief will be responsible for coordinating protocol tasks pertaining to the prime minister and the government, tasks concerning the prime minister’s official visits abroad and organising state events.
