US troops arrive in Hungary to join NATO training

Budapest, October 15 (MTI) – A 100-strong unit of the US army has arrived in Hungary to take part in a joint military training with Hungarian troops, the defence ministry said on Thursday.

The joint training is part of NATO’s security enhancing programme in Europe, the ministry said in a statement.

The training will take place in the Hungarian army’s facilities in Tata in northern Hungary and the Bakony training centre in Varpalota in western Hungary.

The US unit will contribute 30 pieces of technical equipment, the ministry said.
