Visual plan: a new building to construct in Ferihegy

According to hvg.hu, the biggest project of the year enters the construction phase at Liszt Ferenc International Airport. A 2000 sqm hall will be built for Wizz Air, which is expected to bring its maintenance base to Ferihegy in September.
A new hangar will be built at the airport, gigantic machines dig up the foundations – Budapest Airport said on its Facebook site. No less than 68 reinforced concrete piles were drilled in the area of the new hanger at the Budapest airport, thus the project officially entered the construction phase.
The brand new hangar will be built for Wizz Air between the area of the two big mechanic and repair hangars. The company will bring its maintenance base to Budapest from this September. The airlines and Budapest Airport signed the 15-year lease of the new hangar in last June, hvg.hu said.
The general executor of the new hangar is Market Building Company. The nearly 2000 sqm hall and its attached 200 sqm service space can be used by one airplane at a time. During the designing of the hangar it was also taken into account that Airbus A 321 neo airplanes may appear in Wizz Air’s fleet, which has a sharklet, ie redesigned wing and their fuselage will be nearly 7 meter-longer than the currently operating Airbus A 320.
