Hungary sends further icebreakers to help Serbia

Budapest, January 18 (MTI) – Hungary has sent another two icebreakers to help Serbia with efforts on the frozen Danube river, national water management directorate OVF announced on Wednesday.
Hungary sent two icebreakers earlier, at Serbia’s request, which has only one such facility.
Shipping has been banned on the Danube and the Sava as both rivers have been frozen almost along their entire sections in Serbia.
The four icebreakers including Széchenyi, Hungary’s largest such vessel, will help remove ice barriers on the Danube south of Hungary, along the Serbian-Croatian border.
